Re: For Sale, Wants and Exchanges

I have a Canon 180mm macro which I bought for over £1000 last year. I have hardly used it, preferring my 100mm macro. I would like to sell it. I have no idea of a reasonable price. It is boxed and looks new. It has a lens filter to protect the lens. I guess £700 would be good but I am open to offers...

I can't 'see' the images put up by Paul Crook but the link posted by Eccles is an Essex Skipper (IMO!)

I went on Saturday. There was only one car parked when I arrived and several when I left. All had permits displayed on the dashboard (like mine!)

I phoned for a permit last Monday and it arrived on Wednesday. No questions, no charge. Valid for a year.

I can see that image. Wonder if reason I cannot see other link is something to do with my firewall.

That is *really* helpful - many thanks.

Can I guess that top left is a DGF, top right HBF
and bottom one is SWF?

Again, your help much appreciated.

Pete, It does help but I cannot see the pictures of the females 1, 2 + 3. Sorry to be a pain but I cannot make out the sex brands on the upper wings of the fritillaries. I know where they are on skippers and on the Wall so I guess across the forewing? Would it be possible to give me the links for th...

Difference between male and female HBF?

Thanks for you help with the upper wing spot on HBF vs DGF. Does anyone know how to differentiate between male and female HBF (either from above or below) please?? I have heard of the term sex brand but an not sure what that is. Actually, I will now try googling that term but might get some 'interes...

Thanks

The ones I saw today were at Gait Barrows.

I attach a HBF I took at Arnside approx 3 weeks ago - seems to have a 'large' spot to me

Thanks Pete, I can see the images now. How reliable is this? I was photographing 4 frits following each other around this morning. I thought they were all HBFs. I definitely saw the underside of one - it was a HBF without doubt so i though they were all HBFs. However, my pics show at least 1 with a ...

Pete,

Thanks for pointing me to your site.

You reply above "This is based on the upperwing spot, as shown here: "

but I can't see anything there! Any idea why?

Thanks

Richard
