How reliable is this? I was photographing 4 frits following each other around this morning. I thought they were all HBFs. I definitely saw the underside of one - it was a HBF without doubt so i though they were all HBFs. However, my pics show at least 1 with a small spot and at least 1 a with large spot. I didn't check them all underneath - perhaps there was both HBFs and DGFs together?
DGF and HBF fly together at Arnside, which is why a) this makes things more difficult and b) distinguishing between the two is a very relevant question to ask!
I'd say that Dark Green definitely outweigh High Brown at Arnside, although the relative proportion varies. The Dark Green appear slightly earlier.
I believe this *is* High Brown, but this isn't because of the size of any spot. It's because the 3rd spot is indented, as shown in the figure in a previous post. Hope this helps!
when you say the third spot is indented i guess you meen set further back and not aligned with the first larger two if so ive seen the light amazing i just thought it was the size if the spot or its absence
