Small Tortoiseshell ab
I have seen this one twice in the last week on a site in Gateshead. I would appreciate any advice on whether it is an aberration, ab alba with the yellow replaced by white. At first I thought it was a worn hibernator.
Thank you,
Ron

Re: March 2018
All barren in north Durham and things seem two weeks later. Three sites visited and just one Comma noted. My first sighting for the year.

Re: Smardale Gill
I have been to Smardale the last three years and will be there again soon. The best access is from Smardale village. Half way along the track to the viaduct you will get all of your arguses along there, long before you reach the viaduct. They are on both verges and very easy to photograph as they do...

I photographed this one yesterday in County Durham. It has an excess of black on it and I wonder whether it is a named aberration. I have not found similar on the web site.
Guidance would be appreciated,
Thank you

Re: June 2017
Hi Walpolec, I was at Totterhoe on Thursday and Friday and only saw 25, along the whole of the path below the chalk cliffs. Was I in the wrong place or maybe a bit too early?
Thanks
