Probably insignificant to the amount entering the country, but recently in all this movement i have (and a few other people i have heard of) come across numerous dead p. ladies roadside having been hit by traffic on their journeys.

anyone else seen much of this.

Had loads of painted ladies flyin around Lancs the last week or so, but non really landin for me to hav a look at them (except for one battered one on the moors), so a nice colourful individual in the 20 'c sun today in the garden was one of the nicest surprises of spring so far. couldn't believe ho...

1 DOB, 3 Dingy skipper and 10+ Pearl bordered fritillary at Gait barrows yesterday. Also saw one of those micro moths, they go on about there - Ananias funebris At Meathop, loads (not exaggerated) of Greenstreaks, Brimstone and 20+ Painted lady flying north through. Loads of 4 spots yesterday at Meathop moss, as well as Large red damselflies.

Certainly will be still flyin. saw a few at Gait barrows last week, but most kept their distance. Pendle hill (lancs) today was bleak, cold, wet and deserted from any life until on the way down, we came across a nice colony (at least 30-40 strong) of Green streaks. All showed really well right next to the path on nothin but Bilberry on the barran hill slopes - brightend up the day. also love the...

Pennington flash today (Grtr Manchester) - 4 Brimstone, 30+ Orange tip, 5+ Small white, 2 Large white, 3 Comma, Holly blue, 20+ Peacock, c10 Speckled wood. Today in the garden a Speckled wood, Red admiral, Large white & Holly blue (also Bee fly).

Your Wren was probably sun bathing and making sure all of it's body was warmed up / dried off, or letting ants walk onto it and feed on ticks, etc on it's body.

Numerous butterflies flitting around the M58 on the way into Liverpool today in the glorious sunshine, mostly small t/shells & whites (presumably Orange tips).

Caught up with one of my favourite Birds on Thursday, and even tho the pics don't show it, it was an obliging individual. Not that common round my end, so nice to eventually get good views of one.

General butterfly friendly plants

Hi,

i know this is a bit vague, but can anyone list me a few (maybe top 10) garden plants that might be worth gettin for the garden (in maybe attracting butterflies to feed and breed).

Excluding Budl. which i already have.
