Pearl Bordered Fritillary - Lancs/Cumbria

Post by markhows »

I will be visiting this area at the weekend, can anyone help me with info on PBF's at Gait Barrows or Warton Crag or any other good sites nearby for PBF.

Are they still flying? and any directions to best areas appreciated.

Many Thanks

Certainly will be still flyin.

saw a few at Gait barrows last week, but most kept their distance.

Lookin at the Lancs sightings page, Warton might be your best bet:

however for frits i have always found Whitbarrow to be best, altho it can sometimes be hard to find the exact best bit, so at least at Warton there's easy to come across.

cheers.
