Lulworth Skipper?
Is this a faded female Lulworth Skipper? Tout Quarry Portland. 15/7/2019
Re: Lulworth Skipper?
looks like one to me. The only other option (based on the antennae) is Small Skipper but it looks to dark for that ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Lulworth Skipper?
Thanks. I was hoping it was a Lulworth. I have photographed other individuals and would value your opinion on them.
Re: Lulworth Skipper?
The second image is a male Lulworth, all the others are Small Skippers.

Re: Lulworth Skipper?
Thanks for the info. What do you reckon is the clincher for my photo of the male Lulworth?
Re: Lulworth Skipper?
The duller ground colour. They darken quite a bit with age. Fresh animals are a little bit more difficult unless you get a good look. Lulworths have a distinct pattern on the upperside, more prominent in the females.Stevie Blunder wrote:Thanks for the info. What do you reckon is the clincher for my photo of the male Lulworth?

Re: Lulworth Skipper?
Thanks for that. It was quite tiny and I understand they are smaller than Small/Essex?
