Re: Zonda
A foray in dismal weather, of some north Dorset sites turned for the best, after we hit upon some really fresh Marbled Whites at Lydlinch. We did see the White Admirals at Piddles wood, but couldn't get near them for photography. :( https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-3SYAlu8SUrU/Tf9On9hVrMI/AAAAAAAA...
Re: june 2011
Quite a dull day (yesterday)in north Dorset, but bright at first. Several White Admiral at Piddles Wood. Loads of Meadow Browns at Alners Gorse. A few Marbled Whites were about at Lydlinch Common. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0UvhB3auH9g/Tf5rjux9lOI/AAAAAAAAJ-A/oO96SHIm4Ug/s640/Marbled%252520W...
Re: Tics
LOL,,,, very much so!I'm OK without the muzzle but it depends on who's doing the investigating.
Re: Tics
These days i am so rotund, that to find a tick would have to involve several mirrors. I have been rolling around on the heaths and hills, on which it seems all butterflies live,,,, all season. I'm still poisonous to them. Clegs on the other hand,,,, give me terrible trouble.

Hi Guy,, enjoyed your report from the mountains. This week i photographed the introduced Large Blues at Collard hill in Somerset. In these pics the LB's underwings looked quite brown, as in your pics. last year my underwing pics looked greyer. OK it may be the angle of light, or the actual camera. I...

Re: White-letter Hairstreak near Cambridge?
Gawd! I thought you'd seen one, going by the title of your post, and not noticing the question mark. Warm mornings after rain seems good, according to the experts. Whoops,,, and also near Elm of some sort. Good luck, look on the 'sites' for this butterfly on UKB. I myself will be checking Aln...

Re: Susie
I recently had a roadkill rabbit stew, best stew i ever had.
I dunno why we are buying meat, when its being killed for us by traffic. I don't advocate swerving to achieve this, but if you see a rabbit that's had its lot. Why not stop, and pick it up,,,, same goes for pheasants.

Re: june 2011
On the Dorset Heaths, and flying at the moment are the Silver-studded Blues. Of course they like to gorge on nectar from the heather, and upside-down is probably the best way. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-91KzOT_0SZ8/TekVz78RzyI/AAAAAAAAJ3Y/QtJQOh3_BVY/s640/Silver-studded%252520Blue%252520%252...

Re: Dog Owner's Conduct (Split from Photographer's...)
Fact: There are too many irresponsible dog owners, and they can be the cause of 'nuisance', for whatever reason. I propose an annual license fee of £150 per dog, to fund dog's spoil bins, and any cleaning that irresponsible owners might incur. This government should see the worth of this measure, as...
