Silver-studded Blue

Post by Zonda »

Not very much moving this pretty dull morning at Morden bog, Dorset, bar the odd Dragonfly. We went in search of the SSBs, and found just one. I think its a male.

We also spotted this caterpillar cluster, which i think are Peacocks, but may stand corrected.

That's certainly a male SSB, Zonda.

The density of those peacock caterpillars is amazing. Is there a shortage of foodplant now, with the drought?

I don't think there is a shortage of nettles here. My legs, viewed naked prove the point. Thanks Guy.
