Grayling Ova
My first sighting of a grayling ova being deposited. The female almost arches her body through 180 degress to deposit the ova which is surely unique in our butterflies. Taken with the Fuji S7000 and Raynox DCR-150 macroscan conversion lens 1.5X http://www.postimage.org/aVjU4a0.jpg Cheers Colin

Oak Bush Cricket
Hi Jacquib
After a time searching this one on the internet I'm sure its a male Oak Bush Cricket.
On the American site I found, they name it differently but it carries the correct latin name.
See it on http://buzz.ifas.ufl.edu/103pm2.htm
Hope this helps
Cheers

Uknown Moth
Hi Brian-looking at my Field Guide to Moths I have the feeling this might be a Copper Underwing as opposed to Svensson's Copper Underwing, the former being shown on http://ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=196 Did you see any copper colouring on the hind wing at all? Flies between July-October and is fairl...

Hopefully you can see from this shot what JKT is saying. The one on the right is in mid flight and yet almost in focus showing how slow the flight is. These two were 'Mud puddling' where they congrigate near moist soil to extract nutrients. I just tried to get an air shot and sort of achieved the lo...
