Doubt I am going to enjoy the prestige of being the April winner with this shot, but it's the only butterfly I've stalked sucessfully so far this year.

I'm envious of those orange tip shots. I've never managed a decent photo of the species, the blighters just won't sit still!

These are chequered blues (Scolitantides orion), photographed on 21st April, in a hot corner of the Rhône Valley in Switzerland. I am convinced they are holding hands.
