Re: Brimstone Food?

I have ordered 12 root balls Susie, if you want a couple I could send them to you. By the way Fothergill seed company are selling Lantana plants in lovely colours I'll try some of them, I think they are a plant which likes a warm place and to go inside for the winter.

I didn't know that Roger but now I know what panning is, I have learnt a lot with the thread and I expect I'll learn more from time to time.

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 2

Lovely photos Jerry, you must have held that camera so still to get such a good photo of the owl in flight, perfectly sharp. To-day I saw some Red shanks and some Oystercatches but I did take some photos there are still in the camera, it was freezing to-day, I went out to some flooded fields where s...

Re: Wildflowers/plants for my garden

With regards to the cabbage, I read somewhere that if you grow ornamental cabbage away from the veg patch then maybe the White butterflies will go to them.

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

What a week! Got the camera but the lens came, one was damaged the other had the lens cap firmly stuck it had been cross threaded and several people tried to free it but alas it was stuck. Right on the table in front of me was a camera which was really quite complicated and heavy, two expensive lens...

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

I'm looking forward to taking nice photos of butterflies and birds. I have the camera but the lenes haven't arrived yet.
Question to anyone. All the ladies smock plants were underneath the frozen pond, is it likely that the chrysalis of the Orange Tip will be dead.

Hi Jack,
Tea Tree oil is fantastic, anyone who goes near your leg make sure they wash their hands with the oil in the water and you, if you can have a bath put some in the water.

Lovely photos you lot, our frost is nearly gone, back to the northerly winds. Gary, that Buffalo looks at though it's doing a little trot more than a stampede, I mean if something it about to gore you to death surely you'd be running like mad not taking photos.

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 2

What is the tree that you have in your garden Pete, I'm surprised to see so many berries although I have seen holly trees still covered with berries in a few gardens. I haven't seen a Bullfinch for years, I see were back to mild, windy and wet weather.

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 2

Hi Eris,
Nice to see the Goldfinches and a nice photo of a Coaltit, mine are eating tons of feed, they can be a bit wasteful but very nice to see them. The frost just goes on but I think its thawing a bit.

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

I've been studying the Jessops sale of lenes and I'm sorry Eccles I bought a Canon dslr 1000d because the lens are so much cheaper and there seems to be more second hand lens about. The lens that I have bought are Sigma 28-300mm and a Sigma 18-50mm, a Manfrotto tripod and a cable release.
