2015 UKB Outstanding Contribution Award

Post by Pete Eeles »

Congrats to Mark Colvin - winner of the 2015 UKB Outstanding Contribution Award!

Mark has been instrumental in getting the Dispar website (UK Butterflies' publishing arm at http://www.dispar.org) up and running, contributes his images to the stock library, and has taken on the unenvious task of bringing together almost 3,000 known aberrations descriptions from various sources and making them available on UK Butterflies. This work has included original research into the set of descriptions of Long-tailed Blue aberrations (http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/aberrati ... s=boeticus), which is possibly a "first" since no such summary can be found in any historic or modern work.

Cheers,

- Pete

Congratulations, Mark. This is very well deserved :D

Most people do not appreciate the amount of work you do behind the scenes, so it's pleasing to see you get some recognition.

Best wishes,
Vince

Well deserved recognition for the contribution you make, Mark.

In fact, I salute all the members of the team, who, over the years, have made this site a very special one.

Mark,

I have several books on variations and aberrations of our butterflies but I haven't found anywhere else where there is a such a comprehensive list as on this website. An incredible amount of work has gone into this so well done and congratulations on the award.
