Late Butterflies

Other threads indicate that there are still one or two butterflies on the wing, no doubt encouraged by the mild October weather. Indeed, I spotted several commas yesterday during a day trip to Scarborough.
It would be interesting to record the latest dates this year on which active (as opposed to hibernating) butterflies are spotted by members. I saw a red admiral on November 11th last year, but I'm sure some of you who live down south will be able to beat that.

On Scillies during the past week there were;

Lots and lots of Red Admirals and Clouded Yellows

Smaller numbers of Speckled Wood, Small Copper and Peacock.

Also saw a few Painted Ladies and just a single Large White.

Just missed seeing 2 female Long-tailed Blue's. Shame.

Peacehaven - From the Bus to Brighton. A clouded Yellow.
Brighton Seafront a number of Red Admirals. Actually there are tons of RAs around here, most flying south with gusto.

My dad has just told me there is a red admiral in his garden, Meols, Wirral
1st November 2006. I wonder if among us all we could spot a red admiral on every day between now and Xmas?

Seems quite a nice day outside I suspect there are quite a few spottings for today.

November 1st: Quite cold today here but sunny. I saw five RA in the space of about an hour. One was heading quite purposefully northeast across a housing estate. The rest were resident in a wildlife park, one looking rather tatty.
A female common darter dragonfly appeared out of nowhere in the park and settled on my shoe. :?

Wow, what a beautiful day today.

My only sightings on the Bathampton golf course/old quarry circuit were two peacocks, one in flight and one looking in fine shape, basking in the sun.
