Anybody noticed the lack of small/GV/large whites? Went on a walk to Oaken Wood Surrey last Sunday, and whilst we were lucky enough to spot Purple Emperor and masses of Silver Washed and White Admiral, not a single white was seen (no wood white either).
I drive to work at the moment from Newhaven to Hastings, and in the glorious sunshine this morning there were no whites at all. Normally at this time of the year they're everywhere.

Now they're showing, quite a few in Bookham Common on Saturday, and on my allotment in Newhaven on Sunday. But I still think there's not as many as previous years. Small White in particular, are thin on the ground, and whilst Large White are abundant, there's not the millions and millions that we usually see. In my very humble opinion of course.
