unideed

Post by chassyp »

I spotted this fly/wasp or whatever it is on the road. It was flying very low and slow, landing every 10 feet or so. I have tried to find it in my books but havn`t been able to id it. Anyone any ideas what it could be? It was about 15mm long. Regards.

It's a horsefly of the genus tabanus... possibly tabanus bovius, the cow-horsefly
