Well if Stockbridge Down was not famous before, after the much publicised appearance of the Black Veined White, it certainly is now. Me and the Mrs buncked off work a bit early today, and took a look up on the Down, much to our surprise we still met half a dozen people still looking for the B V W. Well it looks like she has finally gone, but the place was heaving with butterflies. Large,Small and G V Whites, Brimstones, Meadow Browns, Gate Keepers, Peacocks, Red Admirals , D G and S W Frits, Brown Argus, Common Blue, thousands of Chalkhill Blues,Ringlets, Marbled White, plus reports of one Dingy and one Silver Spotted Skipper. So even if "SHE" has gone (which she probably hasn't) their is plenty to see.
Took thease today, cheers Gruditch.
Stockbridge Down, not so quiet.
Re: Stockbridge Down, not so quiet.

I think you'll find those spots are on your sensor, not your lens. HTH.Gruditch wrote: Sorry about the spots on the lens

Yeah the Small Copper was missing from its usual place. And yeah I know its not the lens but I couldn't spell sensor. That (a dirty sensor) is what you get when you get hand me downs. How the hell do you clean it, do I have to get it professionaly done and if so should Gwenhwyfar pay.
