Moths ID help please: With ladybird thrown in

Hi,
On my walk today I saw a few day flying moths and would appreciate any help in ID'ing a couple if i may.
Taken in mid Sussex.
The first was in a field hedgerow. It was very small but beautiful marked, including the abdomen. The most striking thing was the rich chestnut brown band across the forewings.
The second was a fair bit larger. It was flying along a public bridleway. When I first noticed it the impression was of something unmarked with an off-white colour. It then took a dive under a leaf. It had absolutely no concern about my hand going underneath it to take a snap....unfortunately i focused the leaf a bit better than I did the moth, but it shows more markings than i could see in flight.
With the first one. I didn't notice the ladybird at all until reviewing the image just now. Can't see the whole thing but I think that's a 16-spot rather than a 14-spot variant ?
Ta muchly in advance for any help.
