This is the December 2007 competition. Please read the competition introduction at:

http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/phpBB2/v ... .php?t=991

To enter the December competition, please post a single reply to this message (1 post per member). You'll be able to edit your entry until 5th January.

Please note the "theme" - close up and personal! Interpret as you see fit :)

Cheers,

- Pete

Yippee!! I've come first!

OK - if people are going for really close up, here's that famous blue spot in all its scale-by-scale glory (taken this July in the Val d'Aran)! I don't think it's a winning photo but it's quite an interesting view:

PS - the Meleager's blues didn't get any votes last time I showed them anyway :(

A plain old clouded yellow, always a special butterfly, photographed this summer (the rules say in the month of the competition, but I guess that's relaxed in December).

I don't think the pictures even have to be taken this year, Roger. See the October page (http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/phpBB2/v ... php?t=1708) for the rules on these themed competitions.

Having said that, clouded yellows are December butterflies round my parts...
