Heavenly choir of crickets

Post by Susie »

Link removed

This is an old story but I thought that because of the time of year it would be nice to share it here (I don't know if it's 100% genuine).

A recording of singing crickets has been slowed down and the result sounds a bit like a choir of human voices singing.

According to this site: http://scienceblogs.com/startswithabang ... -crickets/ it's a hoax - a mix of crickets slowed down and a human voice.

You did indeed. Some of us are just miserable old scientists.

I've removed the link because I've been told there may be a something nasty embedded there. It hasn't affected my computer or most other people who have looked as we've got up to date firewalls but I don't want to risk it doing anything unpleasant to anyone's pc.
