How on earth do you get 21 candles on a cake :)

Happy Birthday.

Kindest regards. Mark

Thank you all (Chris, Vince, Neil, Mark, Pete, Nick, Lee, David, Wurzel) for your birthday wishes.

It's not been the best of birthdays but I'm looking forward to the year ahead and hopefully seeing you all out in the field at some point.

Mark- i'm not allowed candles on my cake, something to do with health and safety for so many!

Chris - cheers, mate ;-) i'm NEARLY as old as you now.

Thank you, Guy, it's snowy here too!

Thanks to Roger and Debbie as well.

I've finished work early (time to be made up next week :-( ) so have a belated birthday present of sorts. I can't ever remember snow at or around my birthday before so it's very novel. :-)

That's quite something, Susie, given the timing of your birthday. Normally mid-January would be considered a prime time for snowfall in this country. Do you live in a spot that normally escapes it?

I've always lived in the south east, David. We dont get a lot of snow but there is usually a little bit most winters.

I bet you've had a fair bit today!!

Things easing off here in Swansea. Hasn't been as bad as predicted. Hope all of you further east get some respite too.

The forecast for Wales has been pretty dire so I hope you're able to stay home in the warm until the snow passes.

We've had a few inches of snow here and everywhere looked very pretty earlier. Nice for walking in if you're wrapped up warm but not good for driving. Several cars were in ditches or having other problems when I left work today. This certainly isnt the weather to try looking for brown hairstreak eggs, that's for sure. Makes searching for a needle in a haystack seem simple.
