July Comp

Found this in the hedge row on the old railway line. I believe the flower is Convolvus gonepteryx, but because of the large numbers of intervening nettles I was unable to obtain a clear shot.

My entry for the July Competition. I had to fight three men off to get this picture.

My first post to this great forum...!

My entry, Idas Blue (hopefully I identified it right, these blue's are not easiest ones... ), is taken early in the morning in Southern Finland.

I think you may be a bit late John, may be Pete will let you put this one in the August comp, as he closed this comp a bit early

Re ; Chalkhill Bue, Stockridge Down.
I love this photograph!
It reminds me of a cover of the (BCS) Butterflies magazine a few issues back of a Green Hairstreak where the background was (relatively) clearly defined as in this picture.
I could get no Exif info from your picture!
Have you used a massive Fstop (22 or something) and a tripod?
Please tell - I want to do it!
Thanks
Roger

Gruditch is correct John. I've now added your entry, but since you missed the "start", feel free to resubmit for August. Apologies - I wasn't sure if I'd have any connectivity while on vacation - obviously I do otherwise you wouldn't be reading this :)

Cheers,

Some truly fine shots here ... going to be hard to vote this month. The dew covered individual just shades it for me at the moment but that Peacock all in sharp focus .... Hmmmm ... decisions ....
