Grizzled and Dingy Skippers in reasonable amounts, plus a good abundance of Green Hairstreaks.
Also Small Heaths about
Saw the first Common Blues (both males) this evening, though a couple of sightings reported yesterday

Re: Twywell Hills & Dales
Hi Adrian
I was at Twywell on Wednesday late afternoon. Like you, I saw loads of Dingy and Grizzled Skippers (ratio 3:1). Hats off to the local branch of BC who are very active in maintaining the site to the benefit of these species.
I rate Twywell as a special place butterfly-wise; it's always a real treat visiting there. It's in Northants (Near Kettering); if there's anyone nearby who hasn't visited, I thoroughly recommend it. Certain parts of the site are the hotspots for Dingies, Grizzled, Green Hairstreaks, Marbled Whites, etc etc.
Here's to a good butterfly weekend!
Chris

Re: Twywell Hills & Dales
Popped up this evening, after yesterday's awful weather and the Common Blues were about.
Not that many, but enough to give plenty of hope.
Came across a mating pair too,so there is hope for the future
