Small Copper

I have two Small coppers. Both taken with in minutes of each other
One looks very normal and the other very much lighter . Is this normal please

Hi Chocky,

You have a freshly emerged third brood female on the left, and a quite worn and faded male on the right, perhaps hanging on from the end of the second brood. Alternatively he could have chosen the wrong place to roost in the recent rains and also still be relatively newly emerged!
