July Wind Again

It's getting very breezy. The forecast for the next couple of days is for pretty windy weather over the UK including southern parts. This has happened at the end of the first week of July for the last couple of years and 2010's blow is reckoned to be at least partly responsible for the poorer showing of Purple Emperors in 2011.

I hope that the earlier Emperor season this year will mean less of an effect, but I wonder if anyone else has any thoughts. The winds may well not be as bad as in 2010, but unseasonal timing three years running is a bit odd.
