High Brown or dark Green

Post by LCPete »

Hi here's a couple of fritilaries from Heddons Mouth the first one is from last year and I am absolutely convinced its a High Brown as I saw the underwing as well
The second one is from 4 years ago at the time I thought it was a High Brown but am not so sure now
I was watching dark greens yesterday and it does look like one
thanks :D

Your first is certainly high brown (female). The second is a female silver-washed fritillary.
