Butterfly Sight

I haerd one time that butterflies see the world like a mosaic. is this true r not? I know they have compound eyes and have poor image resolution. What else could you tell me?

I want to create for my site, a diagram that shows a flower through our eves and one through a butterflies.

Take a photo and blow it up until the image is pixellated. That'll be a reasonable approximation.
