Hi folks,

I thought it would be a nice idea to run a monthly photo competition on the forum where all registered members can post a single photo for the month and then, at the end of the month, everyone gets 1 vote for their favourite photo. There will be no prizes (only kudos!) for the winning entries.

Some "rules":

- Please only post photos taken during the month in question (unless the month in question has a theme)
- Only photos taken in the wild are permissable
- Photos can be of any stage of any species taken anywhere (including outside the UK)
- Please compress photos to 800 x 800 max before submitting

To add your photo [Instructions updated 31-Jul-08, based on the new photo gallery mechanism]:

- Click on the "Photo Gallery" link
- Click the "Upload" tab
- Select the relevant album (e.g. August 2008) in the "Upload to:" field
- Follow the instructions :)

To view the entries:

- Click on the "Photo Gallery" link
- Click on the relevant album (e,g, August 2008) link that is in the "Photo Competitions" Album

Cheers,

- Pete

What a great idea!

Right - where's that blue tac and superglue?

That's fine - so long as there's some connection to UK Butterflies!

Family photos don't count :)

Hi Jackharr
repost your pic into June photo competition, and not the May competition
I think we can all pack up and go home, after seeing Malcolm's
pic of a swallotail

Well I misunderstood. I thought voting was not until 15 days after the end of a month so we had up to that length of time to submit. However, a photo taken in May cannot be entered in June. I liive and learn.

Hi all,

Just to clarify - please post photos against the month in which the photo was *taken*.

Voting starts on the first day of the following month, and will cease after 15 days.

Cheers,

- Pete

Actually, I think Jack makes a good point. How would you really be able to get a photo taken on the last day of the month?!

So - from now on - competition voting (you can still post photos whenever) will start on the 5th day of the following month, and conclude on the 20th day.

Cheers,

- Pete

Hi Jack - you need to edit your entry, rather than posting a new entry here. Just login, go to your entry, and click the Edit button in the top right corner.
