Glanville Fritillary

Post by George »

Hi - wondered if any sightings have been reported yet of Glanville Fritillary. Off to the Isle of Wight this weekend to see some friends and hoped we may just catch them (seen 3rd May last year) but so far have not found any reports of them. They may be late due to the winter weather.

All the best

Hi there, hope this reaches you in time to be useful...another UK Butterflies Member who lives on IOW has seen Glanvilles (and photographed them) flying at "Wheelers Bay Ventnor"...his first of the season. That was on Sat 1st May.
Best of luck, the weather was miserable in Portsmouth today (2nd) and it didn't look any better over there!!
