Moth for ID

Hi all,
Having searched all my books i still cannot id this little beauty, photographed in my Leicestershire garden last September.
Hope one of the experts on here will put me out of my misery!!

It is not often seen with its wings open like that, which is why it looks odd. It usually looks like this:
