Hi Charles - is that really Apple blossom? Looks like Blackthorn to me.

A couple to add -

Herb-robert is a major draw for first brood Green-veined Whites and to a lesser extent Orange-tips.

Hemp-agrimony on woodland rides also pulls in Silver-washed Fritillaries and Brimstones.

Paul mentions viper's bugloss above, which the Large Skipper loves.

Adding for Large Whites, cranesbill is quite good. I've observed them on bloody cranesbill in my garden before, and I'd second Matsukaze Herb robert for Green Veined whites, I have seen first brood ones on them quite often, but second brood tend to go for thistles I have seen.

Also seen Green Veined Whites on Daisy, Ox-eye Daisies and Dandilions as well.

yes you are right Pete...i am probably getting mixed up with Blackthorn cider which is made with apples
