Give that man a blue peter badge. Indeed he be, Gary. :D

He guards my front door and watches all the visitors and I decorated him for the festive season.

You should see the garland that goes around the oak tree. That's impressive even if I do say so myself. Anyway, I digress ....

Blimey, I seem to have started something here. Keep 'em coming guys, the forum pages are looking even more colourful now.

Susie, the eyes on your Green Man look alarmingly real. Are you sure it's not one of the family looking through the wall in order to scare the carol
singers?

Cheers,

Vince

He is definitely one of the family and people do says that his eyes follow them. Whether that is a good thing seems to divide opinion but people are seldom indifferent; they either love or loathe him.

not sure about carol singers but he scared the trick or treaters :)

This is a bit of a shot in the dark, Charles, but is it a Two-Tailed Pasha wearing a Christmas hat?

Susie i'm glad you like my new avatar...sorry about my comments on your green man

Vince this Pasha was not in festive garb... he lived in Corfu just outside the crazy party village of Kavos.

The one with the Santa Hat was French from near Carcassonne.

Hi everyone,

I've had a play at creating a new avatar. I have tried to make it meaningful and therefore I chose a Swallowtail as my subject since it is without doubt my favourite UK species!

That's lovely, Matt. :D It's interesting to see which butterflies people choose as being special to them.

Mine is the tale of the tail of a brown hairstreak, obviously, but it was nearly a purple emperor.
