Swallowtail.
I had planned to use this as my question - although I was going to ask what Scully's tattoo had in common with a British Butterfly!

Re: Daily Quiz
Ok, here is my shot - not too difficult this one.
Which common and sexually dimorphic butterfly was once considered as two species and named The Turnip and The Colewort?

Re: Daily Quiz
I was going for the 'cole' bit, meaning cabbage, but since turnip is 'rapa' in Latin, I'll change plea to small white.
If it's not that, no more guessing for me...

Re: Daily Quiz
Jerry
Sorry - wrong.
I am surprised it has gone so long.
Perhaps the sexual dimorphism bit has fooled you.
It was not the sexual dimorphism that led to the thought of two species, but variation.
Perhaps that helps.

Re: Daily Quiz
Well, I have to make my third guess. Surely it has to be one of the Pieris group... So I close with green-veined white.
Wrong again?

Correct Green-veined White.

Guy, it is up to you.

Re: Daily Quiz

This post should be renamed the hourly quiz!!
Here's my last effort for today - another snake.
How is this...
related to this...
and this?
And where does this fit in?
Guy
