Hummingbird Hawkmoth

Post by Harry Fowler »

A first for me. Lovely specimen hovering and feeding on the valerian in my North East coast garden.

Are there many about ?

Cheers, Harry

Me too...

Mine was in the Garden Centre at Westerleigh nr Yate, Sth Glos. - something around the shelves of weedkiller and bug killer was attracting it.

I brought it to the attention of the owner hoping that he wouldn't mistake it for a Hornet and kill it...

One on Saturday on the edge of Bath. Looks like there has been a little immigration of them.
