"Bugs Britannica" Peter Marren

I met with old mate Peter Marren yesterday. He is busy working on his new tome, "Bugs Britannica". He is interested to learn of colloquial names (of any insects, not just butterflies). I was only able to supply "King George" for Small Tortoiseshell as a new one for him.

Ladybirds have numerous local names and Peter has enough already so doesn't need more. But that apart, please send via me (private message or on forum) anything that might be of interest and I'll pass on to Peter (if, that is, he can figure out how to operate his computer!)
