I am on most of the world's butterfly lists and receive a lot of email messages from them. Today an American on a list covering California and the surrounding area has made a posting there. As a treat for everyone he has posted on youtube one of his fantastic videos. It is of one of their butterflies that resembles a Clouded Yellow. There is some brilliant time-lapse footage of caterpillars moulting and a chrysalis colouring up before emergence. At the end of course the emergence is covered.

Thats a pretty good video, thanks for posting. I have always wanted to see a dogface butterfly, maybe one day I'll see one in the wild for myself. I like how the video shows its emergence from pupae.
