is this Knapweed Fritillary (romania)

Was noticeably smaller than a Queen of Spain it was next to but it's wings are in a bit of a state. No underside photos available I'm afraid.

It could be Eastern Knapweed Fritillary, Owen. We believe we had both ornata and phoebe in Greece but they are hard to distinguish from one another.

Thanks David. I’ll look into that too I’d be happy with knapweed, glad I got the general Id right. I did find some underside photos in the end but the wings were partially open so they have sunlight shining through
