Blimey, I've just been catching up with this thread and its all been going on here, hasn't it?!

Now I know that my photos aren't up to much yet, being both new to butterflies and even newer to photography, but getting a photo in one of these calendars in a few years' time is certainly something to aim towards. If I did get a pic in, and people said it was based on anything other than merit then I would be spitting feathers. Positive discrimination always affects someone negatively.

Hamearis; your comment may be true but that isn't very tactful, m'dear.

I think the calendar looks smashing and I appreciate all the hard work that has been put in trying to organise it.

Ok Pete. Now I read the detail on the site re ordering I see the reasons why. Get the orders, then get the required number printed rather that print too many or too few.

I guess it if is something that is run again you will have an idea of numbers likely to sell and could get a run done in advance. I think you could sell a lot more having them at agm events for sale on tables as well as on a website.

Hi Pete and FISHiEE,
Pete - I'm going to the York event and am happy to oblige. John - Nice to meet you at our AGM on Saturday. I'm sure we can arrange some trips out next summer - I'll find the rarities, you nail them, and we'll share the glory of the monthly comps you win  Pete's obviously explained the situation re calendar sales - but we have been plugging it on the Sussex website with a posting and permanent link to the UKB ordering page. :D

Agreed - but this time around we didn't want anyone to end up "out of pocket".

Cheers,

Pete - I understand and egree it's probably the right thing to do first time out :)

Neil - I'll probably take you up on that. I like the sound of winning the comps and there's still a few things I've yet to find and hundreds of places I've yet to explore :)

Having found this thread (sorry, I didn't look hard enough :( ) I shall be placing my order for a couple :)

I also read through the whole thread and, whilst some may have been upset by some comments (it always seems to be the way with all forums!) I always maintain it's better said (and then debated/discussed/argued/flamed over!) than left unsaid and simmering away

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that I received the calendar today and I think it looks really great. I am taking it into work to show a number of butterfly and moth enthusiasts that I work with. Well done to all involved in putting it together - Im looking forward to displaying it in my office. How many sold in the end? Here's to the 2010 Calendar!

Mark.
