Which Frit?

Post by Stevie Blunder »

I took this photo back in July 2017 at Heddons Mouth Devon. After poring over it for a while and comparing photos in my butterfly books I'm hoping it's a High Brown and not a Dark Green Fritillary. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you

You are correct, it is a male HBF. the slightly concave outer edge of the forewing and visible scent brands are diagnostic :)
