Small Copper Aberration??

Not seen a Small Copper so heavily marked before, seen Anglezarke, Chorley, Lancashire, Tuesday 21st July 2020.
Any/all comments very welcome.

Hi Russ! That's a rather splendidly marked Small Copper - it looks brand new as well, making those heavy markings stand out even more. As far as giving it a name, ab. extensa isn't a bad match, but like most of these things, none of those on "British Butterfly Aberrations" looks exactly the same.

Hi Dave,
Yes it was brand new, found on a local patch, which I regularly visit and it was the first Small Copper I have seen in England this year.
I think you are correct with ab.extensa, which I have now seen on line, thanks a lot. :D
