By the way the other Small White ab I saw and thought was the same Butterfly that'd come back again , it's not the same,It's been proved to be a different ab, don't ask me what it's called though Goldie

Hi! David, no, the the Small Tortoiseshell wasn't there a couple of days ago, I usually cook lots of meals at once and store them in the freezer in the Garage and I would have seen it, besides which I usually check to make sure when it's this time of year by leaving the Garage door open whilst I'm in the Garden, it's just one of those things, it's time was up

I was in the Garden today and the Butterflies were once again flying, straight over my fence, all except one which landed I managed a couple of quick shots before that also took off.
It was funny weather, loads of clouds but sunshine in-between but by 3pm the Sun had gone so no more Butterflies hope fully more Sun this next week. Goldie

Lovely looking Small White Goldie Fingers crossed for some conducive butterfly weather - down here it looks like a mixed bag for a few days and then steadily improving - though I'll believe that when I see it - I get my forecasts now by looking out of a window facing the way I'm intending to head

I guess this is the time of year when post hibernation Small Tortoiseshells naturally expire, Goldie. It was probably over 10 months old, so by butterfly standards it had a good innings.

Thanks Wurzel and David, I've nothing much to post these days and today we've got yet another strong wind although it's Sunny

I did see this Small Wren in my Garden tackling a large Worm which it was struggling with, I took the shots through the window I didn't want to disturb it, you don't see the Wren's too much they're usually too Quick so I couldn't resist and it made me laugh

I also saw yet another SW and managed just one shot before it took off Later has I was thinking of giving up and going in this Speckie landed on my Hose pipe which had not been put a way (Lazy) and seemed to be trying to get warm, the wind was cool yesterday, it closed it's wings and then has the Sun came out from the clouds opened then fully for a shot Goldie

Good to see you were out and about and the Specklie paid you a visit Goldie You did well with the Wren - they're usually just a brown blur leaving you wondering which Little Brown Job it actually was Lovely Small White - probably another ab

I saw the little Speckie again today Wurzel, it was hiding out of the wind in the side Garden No Butterflies except for the Speckie today the wind was too strong, it did die down later but nothing seen. Hope fully I'll see some thing tomorrow Goldie

That's a nice Speckled Wood, Goldie, and you've been doing well getting shots of the Whites too - they are so difficult to approach. Your Bowles Mauve works its magic again!

Hopefully that wind will have dropped tomorrow.

I'm hoping on the nice weather as well Dave, this time a few years ago I would have been up in the Lakes looking for the Duke, even if this Virus wasn't here I can't get anyone to go up there with me for the day people around me aren't interested in Butterflies, at least nobody I know, anyway the Lakes are shut down to travellers at present, I just hope I can get down to Kent this year to see my family, OH! WOE IS ME !!!!!!! Goldie

Great shots of that Wren M. I know from personal experience just how hard it is to get any sort of shot as they are so quick but I reckon you've nailed it there. Well done!

Yes, wrens can be comical, Goldie, but they're pretty ruthless with their prey most of the time.

Love the image of the Speckled Wood on the hosepipe. I'd never have anticipated that combination!

I do hope we hear good news on Sunday Wurzel, I did venture out yesterday but not too far

Yesterday I thought I'd go to Hall-Lee-Brook, it's very near to my house ( about two avenues a way) I didn't go before because most of the Spring Butterflies were coming to my Garden, since they've finished the White's have taken over but don't stay very long if at all any way I got there and apart from the exercise it was a waste of time, I saw 2 OT's 4 SW's, 2 Speckies all were flying none stopped.
But guess what!! I got home made a brew took it out to the Garden and a Female OT arrived, typical, not long after a GVW arrived, the SW's has usual didn't stop but a Speckie did and I managed another shot, I think today I'll just stay in my Garden Goldie

Last night I saw that lovely Moon, I went outside about 21-45 ( according to my camera ) the Sun was setting and gave my first shot of the moon a nice bloom, my second shot was taken at 22-03 and is much different, finally at 22-32 I took yet another shot,
( I was quite enjoying myself at this point and tending to get carried a way with the camera )
It was such a lovely night with my security light lighting up the Garden and the moth's flying about, I could smell the perfume of the flowers, I'd to force myself inside Goldie

Lovely set of shots Goldie especially the female OT Yep finally going out and there being no butterflies that stop - that is definitely a case of the Law of Sod

Ah, simple pleasures, eh Goldie? Saw the moon here last night but there were thin, wispy clouds that dulled some of its brightness. It's a nice time of year though, mild in the evenings and light till gone 9pm....still several more weeks of it too.

Most of the morning was dull but the afternoon was great, light breeze fluffy clouds every now and again, very pleasant, I can't count how many Butterflies I missed but I definitely managed two Large Whites, but the Green Veined White got a way Goldie

Nice Large White, I have still only seen a couple of these. Lots of Green-veined and Small Whites now though.
