Anyone familiar with the ending of the film ' The Italian Job ' will get this joke.
I found it so topical and amusing that I thought it might bring some cheer.

I'll take this post down, in a day or two.

Enjoy,
Trevor.

Thank you Trevor - that made me chuckle, certainly. :D

It does worry me though that though their theme song was "The Self-Preservation Society", these folk really haven't got the hang of social distancing...

Cheers,

Very funny "Italian Job" pic. It cheered my up a lot I can tell you.

Also, amazing underside shot of a Peacock you took recently - showing the upper markings backlit through the wings.

Glad my joke was found amusing  .

Now back to the butterflies. Today just two Commas and four peacocks were found.
I am sure the nagging cool wind kept activity down.

Keep well,
Trevor.

A cold wind here too, Trevor, though west-facing aspects have done quite well. Other people have been seeing Orange Tips!

Cheers Mark,
I was confident that my exercising area would produce a Speckled Wood,
and a Holly Blue this last week, but none were found, I think due to the
constant very cool, sometimes cold breeze. An OT would be very welcome!.

Hi Trevor,

I think we had it a bit warmer here in my bit of the midlands on Wednesday/Thursday, there was certainly less wind. I haven't seen Speckled Wood or Holly Blue yet though although I was pleased to see my first Orange-tip and Small White on Thursday.

Cheers,

Neil.

Lovely shots Trevor :D  That nagging wind looks to be striking back with a vengence tomorrow. Mind you if the weather does take a turn for the worst it will make Lockdown easier to deal with... :?

Thanks Neil & Wurzel.

Every day recently has been spoilt by a cool breeze/wind.
Unfortunately if it's too windy for butterflies to appear, it'll
be too windy and cool for exercise!.

Hope we are all well and not going nuts!.

Will we see gatherings of enthusiasts like these this year?.
In normal years large gatherings are only seen when there is something special about.
In the case of these images it was the Black Hairstreak at Ditchling Common, and the
annual ' same old faces ' group at Chiddingfold forest for the Purple Emperor.

Great to hear from you Philip, a person I associate with high Summer!.
At the moment I should be able to see all the common Spring species locally.
The one treat close to home, at the end of April, is the Pearl Bordered Fritillary.
As things stand the Emperor season is a long way off, if they can get on top of this bug,
and ease restrictions, we may indeed enjoy Chiddingfold forest at the end of June.

Best wishes, and keep well,
Trevor.

Unfortunately the Wall Brown site is at a local beauty spot, Goldie. So it may be closed.
Coupled to that, the main road leading there is closed long term for road works.

Good weather for this weekend is forecast.

Keep well,
Trevor.

Just two butterflies were seen today. A Small White was seen fluttering around
a Blackthorn and then it disappeared high over the tree tops.
Next was a resting Comma, unfortunately with a grass blade in the way, a failed
attempt to move the grass blade sent the butterfly up. One shot was obtained.

Looking forward to a warm weekend!.

Stay safe and well,
Trevor.

Good to see you remaining upbeat, Trevor. We mustn't let this get us down too much. Best to sit it out as best we can without becoming casualties ourselves.

Good luck this weekend!

Thanks David. As well as enjoying butterflying I have other interests and activities,
and every single one has either been cancelled or is no longer possible in the
current circumstances. EXCEPT!, the once a day ' exercise ' session we are allowed.

This mornings exercise produced my first Speckled Wood of the year, plus
another non stop Small White. Two Bee Flies also posed nicely.
This was not a bad haul as the Sunshine was brief.

Plenty of exercise is on the cards for Sunday!.

Keep safe and well,
Trevor.
