What a riot of colour your front garden is, Goldie...with one hell of a buddleia further back!

I now understand why it is such a draw for insects.

Glad you're feeling a bit better. Can't beat a dose of French onion soup - one of my favourites too!

Hi! Wurzel, Dave, David, Glad you like my front garden and my Roses

Yes ! the Butterflies like the Roses but basically to land on,

I've noticed after the rain they often do this opening their wings to the Sun before taking off to land on the Buddleia, which is conveniently placed to ward off the wind which comes down the front of the garden from the North, they can feast in piece without getting blown about too much

I'm not seeing any thing here at present but may be when I get home I'll see one or two on the Buddleia again before I've to cut it down.

I've already cut down two on the back Garden and I've one to go there yet, I've put a few shots in this time of the back garden which this year kept me busy with the Camera,

hope fully next year I'll get out and about more.Goldie

Hopefully you can get out a bit more next season - but if you can't you have a great backup plan prepared

I've missed loads of Butterflies this year so the Garden was a God send in more ways than one!!!!!

I'm hoping to travel a bit more all being well next year being very limited this year, not too far but I'd love to get to Cornwall and see Dorset again I've not been for years, in the mean time I'll be going for a Tinsel and Turkey week-end in Wales in November

Hi! BB, I was surprised again today, I saw two Butterflies in my Garden

Hi! David, that Blue Buddleia on the front didn't let me down today nor did my Yellow one on the back

I arrived home yesterday in the pouring rain, the train journey was good but I still feel rather fragile from the infection so it wasn't long before I had a lovely hot drink and went to bed.

This morning whilst I was in the kitchen I looked out and to my surprise although we'd very little Sun a Comma was on my late flowering Buddleia in the back Garden, it was like a welcome home

Of course I'd to check the Buddleia on the front Garden then and there was a Red Admiral

It was very cloudy and dark by then but the Butterflies were still flying , I took the shot of the Comma through the kitchen window because I thought with the weather like it was I'd probably miss it, I'm glad I did because by the time I got outside it'd gone

I did go out to try for the Admiral but the light was very bad and try has I may I couldn't seem to get a good shot, having said that
I was sneezing like an Idiot

It looks like another early night

Good to see you still have butterflies, Goldie.

The sun has been a bit of a stranger the last few days down here - unlike the rain - so there's been nothing.

You're doing much better than I am at the moment, Goldie.

All I've seen in over a week is a solitary Small White.

Love that yellow buddleia. I must look out for some.

Hi! Wurzel, David, Dave, It poured down this morning until about 11am and then the Sun came out and so did the Admiral's, I counted six in all, I've not seen any other species but to see them is a great pick-me-up after all the rain, only thing that was wrong was the wind , it was very cold this morning and the Butterflies were blown about all over the place but it certainly didn't stop them

Autumn has arrived here with a vengeance and more bad weather is forecast for tomorrow and unsettled weather for the rest of the week so we'll have to see if this affects them in any way.

When you look closely, some of them seem to have a fur lining

No wonder!!!!! Goldie

Hi Goldie, I've not seen a butterfly for a couple of weeks now with last weekend being a shocker around here and the only dry days being whilst I have been at work.

Hi! Neil, I was just going to say no Butterflies today when I looked out of my Bedroom window and saw a Red Admiral on what's left of my Buddleia in the front garden, I grabbed my camera and managed a couple of shots through the window

I do that now because the Sun comes and goes ( lots of cloud ) and by the time I get outside the Butterfly's disappeared

It was great to see it and if we get the high they've promised for Monday and Tuesday maybe I'll see a few more before I cut the bush down, I hope so any way

The weather took up this afternoon and I decided to do some gardening, I took my camera just in case and was rewarded with the Admiral's coming back also on my neighbour's buddleia, a yellow one ( from which I grew mine in the back garden) I got a shot from a distance of a Painted Lady, I think, they do look a lot like an Admiral from a distance
