There were silly numbers of these during my trip to the Alps in July, Charles.Charles Nicol wrote:when i went to Rennes les Bains the other day there were hundreds of these moths
I've a feeling the insectivorous birds of the region will never before have had such a feast!

All I can say is that I'm glad I had already eaten my evening meal when I browsed those latest photos!!!
Some great 'formules' in there, Charles, to supplement the butterflies.

Re: Aude Hols 2018
so that is it for another year
i have just put the final batch of photos onto flickr;
https://www.flickr.com/groups/4548429@N21/pool/
my final butterfly walk this morning was very successful; i found a small meadow of lucerne which had not been harvested. it was full of butterflies including the non-scarce Swallowtail and Queen of Spains. also some stick insects.

Thanks for sharing those, Charles.
You did well with your Pashas (again) and it's interesting to see so many Silver Washed Fritillaries still on the wing.
Amazing how many of those box moths are around that light. They must have been quite a nuisance.
