I know some people don't like the depth of field obtainable with compacts, but this picture shows why some think of it as an advantage.

The flowers of this Hebe are a great attractant, perhaps even superior to buddleia.

Canon A650IS in macro, 22 mm (true) focal length, F/8. No supplementary lens.

My entry is "Willo the Wisp" on the end of this fern leaf. The Comma is incidental :)

Can this facility be changed so that it will accept bigger photographic files? I have been unable to post any photos due to mine all having a file size of more than 250 wotsits.

Then resize them first :)

I suggest 800 x 800 pixels max otherwise they won't fit on most screens without scrollbars being shown which, believe me, won't get them any votes. There are a couple in the June comp. that I predict will get zero votes because they're just too darn large

Cheers,

Software such as Paint Shop Pro PhotoShop enable compression to acceptable sizes. It is very simple and a normal requirement for most websites to keep file sizes to reasonable limits. I am sure other (free) programs enable suitable compression (reduction of size) but the ones I mentioned suit me and many others just fine.

Thank you to everyone for file size advice; I'm very much a computer novice and have trouble with this stuff. Hope this photo makes it.

Marbled White and Essex Skipper settle down together for the night on the same grass head. Aww how sweet :)
