Any Mountain Ringlet sightings yet ?

Hopefully as always weather permitting we're trying for Mountain Ringlet on Saturday at Honister, I've not heard of any reports this year yet. I had them on June 9th last year although they were early.
Does anyone know if there have been any seen in the lakes yet ?

Any sightings for this species over the next ten days would be much appreciated as I might be trying for them in the Lakes on 28/29 June (weather permitting).

Any information on the the most reliable location for this tricky species much appreciated.

Looking at the weather we'll also be trying on Saturday, Sunday is looking wet at the moment. Might see you up there Mark. Which site are you trying ?

We struggled at Cold Pike a couple of years ago, walked all round that area but couldn't fnd any. Last year however at Fleetwith/Honister we got quite a few, about 10 if I remember correctly so that is where we'll be going Saturday morning, it looks like it's going to cloud over in the afternoon.

Tried Fleetwith Friday late afternoon, very windy but saw several, did not try cold pike on Saturday due to terrible weather.

We also cancelled our trip at the weekend due to the weather, can't make it now till July 6th,do you think will they still be on the wing at Honister by then ?

I found Cold Pike very good a few years back.
Park at Three Shire Stone, and head up to Cold Pike. The best spot was between Cold Pike and The Gaitkins at about NY263033
If the weather is such that they are not flying, have poke around in some of the gassy tussocks for sheltering individuals.
We found three altogether in not very good conditions.

For the Fleetwith M. Ringlets you park at the Slate Quarry (there is a charge) on the B5289 and take the footpath behind the Slate Quarry (signposted 'Haystacks') you then walk up the zig-zag path for a few minutes before it straightens out and continue on this path until it starts to flatten out a bit. You will then see some upright pieces of slate on your right. At this point there will be another path off to the left that goes up a hill. Take this path and the M Ringlets were in the rough grasses on the left of the path as you head up the hill.

I have posted this before however I can see from these posting that I may get a definitive answer.

Is the attached a Mountain Ringlet???? I am being told by a so called expert, that it isn’t!! Everyone else including the Recorder and myself etc etc think it is. Best regards.

Very good question, Annie! Assuming this was caught in the UK it can only be mountain ringlet and it's a mystery to me what other species someone might think it is. Scotch argus is out of the question.

Thanks for the replies, very interesting. Yes I`m afraid i have been informed that "it screams scotch argus" mmm doesnt scream as you say, anything but mountain ringlet to me. Sometimes I wonder about experts!! Any comments would be appreciated. By the way I ask, because this example was found at sea level. Yep I know!!
I have been informed that there is some people releasing them in the area. Again, if they are that interested and involved, why do they not undrstand about habitat and food source?? Regards.
