Mystery creature

Post by Padfield »

Not a butterfly - but these forums are the obvious place to turn ...

Can anyone identify this strange creature I found supping at my beery handprints on the outside of my Adnams glass? The glass was inside but the creature could have come from inside or outside. It might even have descended on silk, as I first spotted it abseiling down the glass - otherwise I would probably have thought it was a bit of leaf:

I think I might have answered my own question. This might be a Coleophora moth (http://www.eakringbirds.com/mothimagescasebearers.htm). But if someone knows better, please do tell me.

It certainly looks like one, but I never heard of one drinking beer before!
