Re: Sigma 105mm Macro Autofocus problem

Been a while and have not had much time to do much about it but decided that would be the best option so going to do that. Thanks Sylvie (and everyone else) for the advice.

Re: Local authority vandalism

Signed also, defiantly worthwhile. Especially when a few years ago, there was a wildflower area put in a long a roadside verge and an housing estate nearby to try and brighten up the area and cut down on local crime there and boost peoples moods (it wasn't a great area to be in) and the wildflower a...

Re: Sigma 105mm Macro Autofocus problem

Oh dear! It just goes to show "never believe what you read on the internet!". Is there anything that look as though it could do with a bit of lubrication? Nope. This may sound stupid - but why don't you just send it to a Sigma repair centre, who will quote you before making any repair? :?...

Re: Sigma 105mm Macro Autofocus problem

Just opened up the lens from what it says in the link, it looked a little different inside than the one in the image, the motor isn't the same, has no belt on it or gears.

Re: Moths of Europe Volume 3

The series will comprise 5 volumes in total. I don't know if they will save the Noctuids till last...
5? I thought it was only 4 volumes? BC magazine had it in it and it said there was 4 volumes, so noctuids must be the last one.

Re: Sigma 105mm Macro Autofocus problem

Hi Dave, are the pictures coming out fine, your not getting any all grey images or anything like that. :?: Regards Gruditch The images appear fine, its now not moving well on manual focus either. Sadly, it sounds as though the rubber belt, which drives the AF has become slack. You can read all abou...

Re: Sigma 105mm Macro Autofocus problem

Thanks Iain...you mean the switch that says Limit or full? If so, it isn't that, I always make sure I set it to full, often have to double check I switched the MF/AF switch and not that one, which I also see no point of having a limit switch on the lens. Isn't the focus ring either.

Re: Sigma 105mm Macro Autofocus problem

When I use it, it will focus fully out at times (in any light situation), then it slows way down as it focuses back in and focuses way down and sticks at infinity and won't focus again in AF.

Sigma 105mm Macro Autofocus problem

I have a Sigma 105mm macro lens (Canon fit), had it for 3-4 years (can't quite remember when I got it) but use it a lot and noticed it either won't focus on auto focus or it starts to focus and then sticks. Manual focus is still fine. Anyone know what the cause is?

Poor fellow, can't see it living too long (if it was still alive?) certainly looks like a Birch Sawfly to me, one of the larger sawflies.

Dare I mention I missed a few? Groundsel, Coltsfoot, Hedge Garlic, Flax (Didn't know what it was until it flowered today) and Chickweed. Hopefully this "jungle" will be good for wildlife in future.

Re: wild flowers

I have a lot I am growing, see if I can remember them all (take a while to go into details on how they are for wildlife so I'll do that with some). Early days so can't say how these fair until becomes fully established in a year or so. I had a few honeysuckle but oil man who was filling our tank spi...

Re: Dave McCormick

I started walking downwards towards the large meadow I wanted to visit (I visited here every year and seen all sorts, more than in other areas) and there was one area I also wanted to visit, which gets really boggy and has a large population of Orange-Tips in it, but couldn't remember where it was. ...

I am trying to post on my personal diary and have the message written and quite a few images placed in it, I'd rather not lose it but when I pressed Submit, I get "You Are Not Allowed to Access this file" can anyone help? I saved the message and can post it with the images again if this ca...

Re: Dave McCormick

Been forever it seems since I last posted here so time for a new update  Yesterday I went to a place I have went to for past 21 years, it doesn't change all that much for the exception of gorse that is creeping on some areas. It is called the Lead Mines and is where rare minerals were mined b...
