Re: Purple Emporers

Hi,
I'm thinking of driving down to Fermyn Wood from Lancashire one day next week to hopefully see Purple Emporers. Are they likely to still be active or am I too late?
Regards,
Bob.

David,
I spent three hours at Chambers Wood Farm today and managed to get good views of one Brown Hairstreak. It was in a small Ash tree 40yds past the fiveways bench down the left track.

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the reply. It will be interesting to see if there are any more reports of Ringlets in Lancashire this summer.
Regards,
Bob.

Ringlet Butterflies In East Lancs.

Last Saturday Jeff and Sheila Howarth found two Ringlets at Rowley Lake, Burnley SD863326. Terry Lally was down there this morning and counted 32. As far as I know these are the first proven sightings of this species In the Burnley area.
