Re: "Wrong" lenses

Been looking at that Sigma 150mm f2.8 EX DG HSM Macro Lens and it is on my wish list, but at more than £500 it will have to wait until next spring.:)

Re: "Wrong" lenses

My Olympus 70-300 lens which is nearly always on the camera, will focus down to 1m so OK (but not perfect)for most butterfly shots, but also for bird, action and general wildlife shots. For really close work I have an Olympus extension tube.

Re: Albino small Copper

Yes, only a couple of miles from me Felix, will drop down there again, it is one of my regular (every few months) haunts.

Albino small Copper

This one confused me on Sunday whilst roaming the Moor Copse Nature Reserve at Tidmarsh in Berkshire, wasn't quite sure what it was until checking the field guide.

Re: Another Moth Ident please

Thanks again Dave much appreciated, have only got the guide to macro Moths and due to the size of this one, assumed it would be a macro. Must get a micro Moth guide, can you recommend one? :)

Another Moth Ident please

Thought at first that this was a Smokey Wave, but don't think it is now, as the body is too long.:)

Thanks Dave, considered that one, but couldn't find a picture showing the wings spread and showing the little white mark.:)

Moth ident required please

This was spotted at Flamborough Head in Yorkshire, about 2 cm across from memory. Have looked through my Moth guide, but can't seem to find it.

Thanks in advance.:)

Is this an Old Lady Moth

Would be obliged if someone could ID this for me, it looks like an Old Lady Moth, Mormo maura, but mine seems to have a very prominant Orange eye, where any pictures I've seen do not have this.

Re: Essex skipper,or perhaps a Small skipper?

Thanks Pete. :)

Expect more requests in the future, as this is a newly acquired interest for me and some of the differences are so small as to be near indistinguishable to the untrained eye.

Re: Essex skipper,or perhaps a Small skipper?

I have a similar question Deano, hope you don't mind me tagging onto your thread, as mine would have the identical title. :)

I spotted two Skippers at Moore Copse Tidmarsh and they are slightly different as seen below. I have larger shots if needed. :)
