This was spotted at Flamborough Head in Yorkshire, about 2 cm across from memory. Have looked through my Moth guide, but can't seem to find it.

Thanks Dave, considered that one, but couldn't find a picture showing the wings spread and showing the little white mark.

Well no sooner had I seen that one, when came back down South and one appeared in my bedroom last night.

The little white mark is indicative of the species, looking like a letter 'Y' from which it gets its name. It's not a resident UK species but a regular summer immigrant.
